Not unlike the justifiable reasons a man might drink a glass of scotch with friends.<br /><br />I would thing the the latter is no particular sin , where as the former ( the more common smoker ) probably is sinning.<br /><br />Of coarse there should be some consideration given as to why 'smokers' seem more to be of the habitual type. If it is primarily a social attitude or if tobacco is more addictive/dangerous the alcohol.<br /><br />I'm not sure how much weight you can give the studies on second hand smoke. Certainly regular exposure to it raises the risk of come diseases, but I really have to question if the level the risk is raised , justifies the level of alarm. What about people who camp often in inhale wood smoke, or factory workers, or people living is smoggy cities? don't they all have similarly elevated risk levels?
