Here is the original masterpiece that modernist painter Francis Bacon parodied: "Portrait of Pope Innocent X (1650), by Diego Velasquez (1599-1660). Tim's caricatures of Catholic papal doctrine and historic and current Catholicism (not to mention, Catholic thought and apologetics in general) are as distorted as a comparison of Bacon to Velasquez. "A painting speaks a thousand words . . ."
